Hello, Sudzers! In March’s meeting, we met some new members, learned about spunding, and tasted ten delicious brews. Thanks to everyone who showed up!

As a reminder, club dues are collected on a calendar year basis. Becoming a paid member gets you a discount at MoreBeer in Los Altos, as well as access to the special members-only events we do through the year.

  • If you’d like to pay dues, please send $25 via paypal to derek@sudzers.org or bring cash with you to the meeting
  • Derek has shirts for sale: $5 for t-shirts and $10 for polos. What a deal!
  • The Steins Home Brew Contest 2019 (http://steinsbeergarden.com/mountainview/2019/02/22/steins-home-brew-contest-2019/) is coming up soon, so make sure to enter your beers! Also, if you’re interested in judging, please send an email to Mikael (hakansso@pacbell.net).
  • We’re looking for people who want to pour at Steinbeck’s Home Brew Fest (https://www.steinbeckrotary.org/2019-steinbecks-home-brew-fest). Cliff will provide more details.
  • Chet is organizing a homebrew gear swap meet and will provide more details.
  • Cliff will give a SudTalk on spunding.
  • Homebrew evaluations. Remember, bring your recipe – club members will have lots of questions! Sign in your beer along with your name and statistics (IBU, ABV, etc.). The info is optional, but helpful in determining tasting order.

Sudzers February 2019 meeting notes

Hello, Sudzers! In February’s meeting, we met some new members and welcomed back some old-timers, learned about the Tilt Hydrometer, and tasted seventeen delicious brews. Thanks to everyone who showed up!

– Derek collected membership dues. Dues must be paid each calendar year and can still be made to Derek via paypal at derek@sudzers.org
– Derek had shirts for sale: $5 for t-shirts and $10 for polos. What a deal!

Hello, Sudzers! In January’s meeting, we got introduced to some new members, congratulated our new Homebrewer of the Year Cliff Sullivan, discussed ideas for events in 2019, and tasted twelve delicious brews. Thanks to everyone who showed up!

– We presented the Sudzers Homebrewer of the Year award to Cliff Sullivan. Congratulations, Cliff!
– Officers for 2019 are: Robert Curlee (President), Chet Simocko (VP), Derek Wolfgram (Treasurer), Cliff Sullivan (Competition Chair), Mikael Hakansson (BJCP Chair), Adam Campbell (Communications)
– Mikael recapped the BJCP exam that took place last Saturday. In total, nine people took the exam. We’ll make sure to post any judging opportunities here so people can start earning some points!

– We brainstormed some ideas for 2019: Battle of the Brews comp at Freewheel, hosting a homebrew comp at various locations, and brewery tours, were some of the things we came up with. If you have any other ideas, please email them to Robert (rcurlee@yahoo.com)
