Sudzers August 2024 meeting notes

For our August meeting, we discussed this year’s club brew, a possible tour of Admiral Maltings, and NCHF. Then we tasted ten great homebrews. Thanks to Stein’s and everyone who showed up.

– We welcomed new member Jason. Welcome to the club!

– Club brew: The recipe will be the same biere de Noel recipe we brewed last year. Nathan has offered to host the brewing and has the equipment necessary to brew and ferment 15 gallons of beer. Robert, Allen, and Stephan will help with the brewing.

– Admiral Maltings tour: Stephan has been in contact with them. Tentative date so far is September 8. There was some discussion that a date in early October would be good as well. Derek mentioned that the club has enough money to hire a bus to get participants to Admiral’s facility in Alameda.

– NCHF (Northern California Hombrewers Festival): The festival will be held September 20-22. Camping tickets are still available. More information at: https://nchfinfo.org

– Dark Matter vertical tasting: We didn’t set a date, but those present seemed to agree that sometime in early December or January would be a good time for this.

– The beers we tasted:
